Technology

Whether you join our Technology teams in cloud platform management, digital command centre, hub support or enterprise architecture, you’ll be helping to build the current and future technology roadmap to meet our ambitions now and in the future. We’re looking for passionate and purpose-led architects, engineers and service managers to help us drive new ways of working across the business by showing colleagues how tech can help them and ensuring all our colleagues have the technology they need to do their job well.

Customer Success

Our Customer Success teams have a range of talent analysts and technicians helping to make sure all our colleagues have everything they need to offer our 15 million customers an exceptional everyday experience. Wondering what sort of work is involved? Here’s a snapshot of what you could be doing as part of our Customer Success team:

  • As a service desk analyst, you’ll provide IT support to colleagues via the phone, self-service and email
  • As a digital drop-in clinic analyst, you’ll offer colleagues face-to-face IT support
  • As a technician in our Digital Field Services team, you’ll provide face-to-face IT support to our Ops team out in the field
  • As a request and access fulfilment analyst, you’ll support new starters, leavers, movers and all other digital requests
  • As part of the ServiceNow Admin team, you’ll look after Thames Water’s ServiceNow catalogue and maintain our Virtual assistant.

Digital Product Management

Our Product Management team plays a crucial role in helping the entire organisation adopt a digital mindset and become an agile, efficient organisation. From business analysts to project, programme and portfolio managers, as part of our Product Management team you’ll be responsible for using technology to bring about benefits and drive positive change to people within Thames Water as well as our customers.

Data & Insights

In our Data & Insights team, you’ll be helping us raise the bar through the purposeful use of data. Join our data engineers, scientists, analysts and architects to unleash the power of data to drive our business strategies in asset management, customer 360° and operational excellence including Azure IoT Hub, Schneider SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), Databricks, open-data APIs, React and Python. This could be through:

  • Data engineering – developing, delivering and evolving a sector-leading, modern, data platform
  • Data science – helping us to develop, deliver and maintain ground-breaking algorithms and analytics on an enterprise level
  • Business intelligence, data modelling, data quality and data governance.

Digital Engineering

As part of our Digital Engineering team, you’ll be helping us move our legacy estate to new cloud-based platforms and enhancing our Digital-for-Digital capabilities. You’ll also play a key role in helping us transform the way our core business processes work, influencing the day-to-day lives of our 15 million customers. Across finance, asset management, HR, retail and operations, the work the Data Engineering team does is fundamental to the effective running of the entire business – come and help shape the future of Thames Water.

Cyber Security

Join our Cyber team and help us keep Thames Water, our customers, colleagues and communities safe through education, training and the deployment of the latest technologies like CyberArk, Abnormal, Sentinel, Claroty Akamai, Garrison and Tufin.

We’re building security by design in everything we do, promoting a strong culture of cyber security across the organisation and strengthening our defensive capabilities to protect our systems, data and continued business operations from cyber-attacks.

As part of our Cyber Security team, you’ll help us securely develop new systems and capabilities to improve experiences for our customers and support regulatory requirements.

The vision of our Digital team is to create an exceptional everyday digital experience for our customers – by putting them at the heart of everything we do. It’s Team Digital’s priority to build a future where we really know our customers so we can anticipate, or even predict, their needs and deliver a more personalised experience across multiple channels. For example, to help us look after every drop of water, we want to give our customers the data insights they need to make informed decisions to manage their impact on our water systems and the environment.

Working together

Armna, Alex and Jason from the Digital, Data and Transformation team talk about the ‘family feel’ they have, the support they enjoy and the importance of supporting team wellbeing.

When Armna thinks about her team, she thinks of them as family, and she genuinely cares about their wellbeing. Alex agrees, reflecting on the fact that when there’s a significant event to deal with, everyone is there, wanting to do their bit and work together to sort it.

Jason always jokes about #joinourfamily because he genuinely feels it’s like one big family. You can talk to anybody about any challenges you’ve got or things you need help with, and there’s always someone there to support you.

Personal growth

Not everyone who wants a degree gets the opportunity to do one after school. That’s what happened to Penny – until she joined Thames. Penny shares how the company has enabled her to pursue a degree apprenticeship in management and talks about how it’s enabling her to develop and grow.
